Family

My family is large and spead out! My parents are currently living just outside of Dallas Texas, in Richardson. I have one brother, Chris, and one sister, Amy. Chris just got married just over 1 year ago and is living in Sandford, FL (between Orlando and Daytona). Kristin, Chris’ wife, is slightly younger then I am and Chris is 18 months older then I. Chris started his own bar about 6 months ago and so far is is going well. I think he has a myspace page and Chris and Tobby, are working on getting a regular web page going (The West End Trading Company), I will let you know when it is finished. Kristen has a little girl, Riley, I believe she just turned five. She is a ham, but adorable.

As for my sister, Amy, she just graduated from college, Belhaven, and she moved to just outside Lawrenceville, GA. She will be getting married next weekend. She is marrying Brad. He seems like a wonderful guy and although they have been dating a long time I have only spent a few weekends with him, so I am still getting to know him. But just from the way that he and his family have welcomed Amy into their home and family I can imagine that they will be very happy together. Plus they will be the family that is closest in distance to me so that is exciting too!

Last but not least, Mom and Dad. As I said they are living outside of Dallas. Texas is where I was born and raised and although I have been out of it for quite a few years I still don’t call anywhere else home. Too many memories I guess. My my parents, however, lived in Florida for a few years and got hooked. They are in the process of selling their house so they can get an appartment or condo in Dallas and then get a condo or house in Florida, hopefully close to the beach. They plan on retiring near Tampa one day. My Dad works for La Madeleine, I guess you could call him a big wig. He works in the corporate office in Dallas, but spends most of his time traveling to different stores in his region trying to make them better. Mom has spent the last few years caring from my ill grandmother, but now she is looking forward to traveling with my dad more. (Maybe they will visit us more now?) . I miss them, we go too long without seeing each other.

Well I guess that is all the introductions for now. I will introduce Tobby’s family next time, cause they are wonderful too!

New Puppy

02-22-07_1839So Tobby and I have been talking about getting a new puppy for about a year, but do to certain circumstances we have been putting it off. No Longer! We started to look for a puppy to rescue around a month ago, we even talked to our vet about Sadie and what kind of dog would work best with her, ie a puppy or an older dog. We decided on a puppy because Sadie, just turning four has slowed down quite a bit and the vet seems to think that a young dog would be best. Puppys tend to play in short burst and this way Sadie can work up to having another dog in the house all the time.

So we have been looking at puppys and finally decided on one last week. He is a rescue, well technically mom was a rescued from the pound and turned out to be pregnant. At the moment they have named him Moose, however we are trying to come up with another name. Mom is some kind of terrier, and we are not sure about dad, but we think he must have some lab and some basset hound in him. “Moose” has bowed legs that are kind of stocky like a basset, and wirey hair on his face like a terrier and then the body and face shape of a lab, just smaller. The lady that we are getting him from seems to think that he will be about 30-40 pounds. He will be significantly smaller then Sadie, 75 pounds, but not necessarily a bad thing!

We have a few pictures of “Moose” from my phone, so they are not very good, but I will post them soon anyway. Tobby and I will get “Moose” on Tuesday, March 6th, right after my sister’s wedding. I am so excited, for both :)
